About us
Polish Prince Pierogi is a small family-owned Polish market in Billerica, MA that makes handcrafted pierogi, kielbasa and more. We make most things from scratch, and all of our offerings incorporate the use of a combination of traditional family recipes, modern creations, French culinary techniques and high quality ingredients.
This is a hybrid role that involves food preparation in our kitchen and customers sales/service in our storefront. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in the kitchen environment as well as interacting with customers. The role is full time from 10:30 am - 6:30 pm, Tuesday - Friday, and 9:00 - 5:00 on Saturday. We offer a paid 30 minute break each day, and paid time off of 2 weeks per year.
Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and execute transactions in the Point of Sale system
- Ensure food quality and presentation meets the highest standards
- Manage food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with menu planning and recipe development
- Monitor and control food costs to maximize profitability
- Handle any customer concerns or complaints related to food quality or service
Requirements
- Proven experience as a prep cook or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant , hotel, or production kitchen
- In-depth knowledge of food service management and kitchen operations
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on quality and presentation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds
-Knife skills are required
-Sausage making experience is helpful
-ServSafe certified or willing to obtain ServSafe certification with our sponsorship.
