Operating Technician – 2nd Shift

Shift: 3PM-11PM, Monday through Friday
Wage: $22.50 per hour

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Operating Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of thermoforming equipment under the direction of a Production Shift Leader. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery to produce thermoformed parts according to production specifications

• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to maintain consistent product flow

• Ensure efficient setup in terms of time, materials, production rate, and material usage

• Inspect and prepare equipment, tools, and materials prior to startup

• Identify product deviations and communicate quality issues promptly

• Maintain accurate shift documentation and participate in shift hand-offs

• Perform routine maintenance, equipment cleaning, and housekeeping tasks

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and all safety procedures

• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment

• Basic mechanical aptitude

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for training, safety, and quality compliance

• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating production machinery

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance

• Comfortable using computers and production software

• Understanding of manufacturing standards and inspection techniques

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Environment: Indoor manufacturing setting, may involve warm conditions

• Tools/Equipment: Thermoforming machines, computers, hand tools, measurement devices, pallet jacks

• Physical Requirements:

• Lift 10 lbs continuously

• Lift 11–30 lbs regularly (3–4 times per shift)

• Lift 31–50 lbs occasionally (1–2 times per shift)

• Standing for extended periods; bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, twisting
