Position Summary
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. This position involves providing care, advocacy, and skill-building to help individuals participate in their communities, achieve personal goals, and maintain health and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct care and supervision to individuals in accordance with their Individualized Service Plans (ISP).

Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and mobility support.

Support individuals in developing social, communication, and independent living skills.

Administer medications and follow medical or behavioral protocols as directed.

Transport individuals safely to appointments, community outings, and work/educational programs.

Document services provided, progress notes, incident reports, and other required records accurately and timely.

Promote dignity, respect, and inclusion in all aspects of care and support.

Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow crisis intervention procedures when necessary.
Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school diploma or GED required.

Valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable driving record (if driving responsibilities are required).

Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and any other requirements per the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD).

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe).

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required—training will be provided.
