Job DescriptionThe Farm Technician position facilitates and assists with implementing farm activities to enable any and all research, education, communication, development, and production projects to function as designed. The Farm Technician will participate in project design through completion, carrying out all daily activities while maintaining activity logs. The Farm Technician will also be responsible for property maintenance. This position reports to the Senior Farm Director.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take part in the execution of day-to-day tasks
- Lead and/or supervise seasonal workers and volunteers when requested
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and office space
- Operate between research plots, production fields, and educational fields
- Maintain field operations logs for organic certification (harvest, amendments/sprays, tillage, etc.)
- Tractor driving, using tractor-mounted implements, using irrigation, transplanting, seeding, cultivating, hand weeding, spraying, harvesting, collecting data, and any other field tasks requested
- Assist in planning and execution of pollinator habitats and riparian zones
- Maintain all input and planting records
- Maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance across the farm
- Prepare sites for events
- Transplanting, hand weeding, watering, seeding, dead-heading, harvesting, spraying, pruning, trellising, mowing, trimming fence lines, and any other landscaping tasks requested
- Assist in planning of beneficial insect habitats and beneficial for gardens
- Operate and maintain greenhouse/high tunnels
- Prepare and deliver farm products as needed
- Maintain detail sales records
- Property maintenance will be required including but not limited to cleaning, trash and recycling removal, require facility when needed, etc.
- Snow removal when needed
- Cutting trees/bushes and removal of plant debris
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in manual labor, agriculture, or landscaping
- Previous experience with and ability to drive, operate and maintain farm equipment, tractors, and hand tools.
- Ability to maintain and organize activity logs
- Ability to lift and carry +50lbs
- Ability to be flexible with schedule, as farm work can be unpredictable
- Positive, motivated, professional attitude
- Works well in both a teamwork-oriented environment and alone
- Able and willing to work in any weather conditions

Compensation & Benefits:
- This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.
- This is an hourly position, offering $22.00 per hour
