Overview:
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment across our operations. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to safety and compliance. The ideal candidate is a skilled, motivated, and safety-conscious individual who can work independently or as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components of industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and correct electrical and control issues using strong troubleshooting skills.
- Install and maintain wiring for 480-volt 3-phase motors.
- Ensure compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Interpret and work from technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Conduct quality testing and inspections of equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to complete repairs and installations.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a registered electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent journeyman experience.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, controls, tools, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Physically able to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces or at heights.
- Willingness to work in a demanding, fast-paced industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting.
- Knowledge of PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor controls.
