Job Summary
The Assembler II performs moderately complex electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks for Department of Defense (DoD) products. This role involves assembling, soldering, wiring, inspecting, and testing components and finished products according to detailed engineering drawings and industry standards. The position requires strong attention to quality, adherence to safety/ESD protocols, and the ability to support continuous improvement on a 2nd-shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic components, wiring, and hardware into sub-assemblies and final units.
- Perform soldering, wiring, crimping, and mechanical assembly using proper tools and techniques.
- Inspect assemblies for quality and compliance with IPC/J-STD and company standards.
- Identify and report defects or nonconformances and support corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate assembly, production, and inspection documentation.
- Follow all ESD, FOD, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for quality and efficiency.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in soldering, wiring, and electronic assembly
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 standards
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Manual dexterity with small parts and hand tools
- Basic problem-solving and defect identification skills
