Job Summary:We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cut Thread Operator for a 1st shift temp-to-hire position in Arlington, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating cut-threading machines to meet production and quality standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform setup of cut-threading machines, including die head adjustments for specified diameter and pitch
- Ensure completion of required preventative maintenance prior to operation
- Verify materials and match against job tags and travelers
- Use master nuts or thread gauges for each assigned job, as directed by QC
- Set machine stop to required thread length
- Submit first article for Supervisor/Lead or QC approval before continuing production
- Maintain material traceability at job start and throughout production
- Record completed jobs on production schedule sheet and retrieve next job from Supervisor/Lead
- Return thread gauges upon job completion and at end of shift
- Maintain organized and clean work area; clean up 15–20 minutes before shift ends
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating threading or similar mechanical machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in setup and operation of manual or automated production machines
- Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and first article verification
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Experience in metal fabrication or threaded component production
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Work history in temp-to-hire or production shift environments
Required Skills:
- Proficient in machine setup and threading operations
- Ability to read and interpret job travelers and material tags
- Strong attention to mechanical detail and quality assurance procedures
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with thread gauges and master nuts
- Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures
- Comfortable working with standard shop tools and measurement equipment
- Bilingual (Spanish)
