Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Eastern Cleveland area

Job Summary

This new role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer or Engineering Technology graduate who enjoys both designing in CAD and working hands-on with fabrication and assembly. You will also interface directly with customers to support technical questions and project needs. In this role, you will contribute to supporting fulfilling the growing goals of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• CAD Design: Assist in designing enclosures, components, and assemblies using AutoCAD(preferred). Develop 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings for components.
• Fabrication & Assembly: Work hands-on with team members in production, installation, and finance to define, design, and deliver new products, technical solutions, and enhancements that meet the needs of the company, clients, and end users.
• Customer Support: Communicate directly with customers via phone and email to address technical questions and project details.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions. Develops and maintains product documentation.
• Research: Research new materials and applications that will allow additional and improved options for our clients. This includes working with materials such as aluminum, glass, polycarbonates, and other materials.
• Manufacturing Process: Assists in the planning and design of manufacturing processes and equipment needed to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products.
• Safety: Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field.
• CAD proficiency (AutoCAD preferred).
• Strong communication skills for direct customer interaction.
• Comfortable in a fabrication/assembly environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks: design, shop support, and customer communications.

Compensation & Growth

• Competitive salary ($70,000-90,000 + DOE)
