Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Attorney who brings both transactional and litigation experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of relevant experience and currently live in Shreveport or be willing to relocate.
Responsibilities:
- Represent upstream and midstream oil & gas clients in in royalty disputes, lease terminations, surface use conflicts, etc.
- Draft and negotiate contracts including JOAs, PSAs, farmouts, and MSAs.
- Handled matters involving pipeline easements, right-of-way negotiations, and eminent domain proceedings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting clients in the oil and gas sector, and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with legal, business, and technical teams to ensure that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana.
- 5+ years' experience as an attorney in oil and gas law - transactional and litigation work
- Exceptional negotiation, research, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound judgments and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professional ethics.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relevant to the oil and gas industry.
