Direct Counsel is working with a top-tier national law firm to find a Labor & Employment Associate for its Chicago office. This is a prime opportunity to join a group with an outstanding national reputation for representing management clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters—from strategic counseling to high-stakes litigation.
About the Role
The team represents employers of all sizes and across industries, offering strategic advice and advocacy on issues including:

You’ll work closely with senior attorneys and clients alike, managing matters from start to finish, participating in business development efforts, and receiving ongoing training and mentorship.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications

5–7 years of employment law experience at a management-side law firm.

Strong litigation background including motion practice, discovery, and depositions.

Excellent legal research and brief writing skills.

Experience with wage/hour, class actions, and/or restrictive covenant/trade secrets litigation.

Ability to juggle multiple matters simultaneously and interact confidently with clients.

J.D. from a respected institution with strong academic credentials.

Admitted in Illinois (or actively seeking admission).

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $280,000 – $310,000 depending on experience.
