### Bankruptcy Attorney – Consumer Cases

#### About the Role
We are seeking an experienced **Bankruptcy Attorney** to manage a high-volume caseload of **consumer bankruptcy filings** (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13). You will help guide clients through the entire process—from initial consultation and document gathering to plan confirmation, creditor meetings, and discharge—while delivering clear, compassionate counsel during financially stressful times.
#### Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and electronically file petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, and Chapter 13 plans and other simple motion practice.
- Represent clients at §341 meetings of creditors, confirmation hearings, and any contested matters.
- Negotiate with trustees, creditors, and opposing counsel to resolve objections and avoid litigation.
- Monitor case progress, ensure timely compliance with court deadlines, and secure discharges.
#### Required Skills & Qualifications
- **J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school** and active license to practice in Kentucky.
- **Strong simple math aptitude**—comfortable calculating interest and other simple things that can be done with a calculator and the ability to explain it to clients.
- **Exceptional responsiveness**—return client texts/emails within the same business day and proactively update clients on case milestones.
- **High degree of patience**—able to explain complex legal concepts in plain language and calmly manage anxious or emotional clients
Initial compensation is highly dependent experience in the field and ultimately will be based on performance and responsibilities delegated.
