Wholesale Nursery Manager


POSITION SUMMARY

The Wholesale Nursery Manager oversees all operations of the wholesale nursery, including staff management, inventory control, and customer relations. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient nursery operations, maintaining high-quality plant stock, and fostering strong relationships with landscape contractors and other clients. The manager is also responsible for driving revenue growth through effective sales strategies and operational excellence.

OBJECTIVES

  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual revenue targets for the nursery.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landscape contractors and other customers.
  • Implement best practices for plant care and nursery maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage nursery expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of quality plant materials.
  • Promote nursery products through marketing strategies and industry events.
    Train and supervise nursery staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean nursery environment.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Proficiency in inventory management and basic financial oversight.
  • Knowledge of horticulture and landscaping practices.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk, stand, and move around the nursery for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort with activities such as bending, kneeling, or crouching during plant care and maintenance.
  • Strong visual focus for assessing plant health and inventory.
  • Ability to handle tools and equipment for nursery operations.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Physical stamina to work long hours, especially during peak seasons.
  • Ability to respond quickly and physically to operational emergencies or urgent tasks.
