SUMMARY
The programmer position writes codes for our Lathes, Haas Mills, and Citizen Swiss Screw Machines in our Lock Manufacturing building.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Interpret and translate CAD files into accurate CNC programs using appropriate CAM software.
- Select tooling and machine required to manufacture the part.
- Create custom tooling to increase cycle times.
- Create all required documentation such as setup sheets, pre-control, and in-process record.
- Troubleshoot issues related to programming, setup, or machine operation.
- Make adjustments and revisions as required to have a stable and repeatable process.
- Collaborate with management, engineering and quality control to review any issues.
- Ability to train others in the concepts of programming and operation.
- CNC programmer position is for manufacturing high security locks in our Lock Division and not sheetmetal.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years minimum experience with Haas mills and lathes and Citizen Swiss screw machines (or equivalent equipment)
- Must have strong background in CNC programming, machine knowledge, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- 3 years minimum experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- 3 years minimum experience with CAM software (Fusion 360 and Autodesk Part Maker preferred)
- Be able to plan the machining process and generate complete process documentation.
- Ability to setup and run prototype and existing jobs to first article approval and make adjustments as needed.
- Must have good time management skills to work on multiple projects
- MS suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand, walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
- Vision abilities requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth
- Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 25 lbs. continually.
- May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
