WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a Project Manager-Senior Architect with 10-15 years’ experience for the firm's Albany office. This senior-level position is perfect for an independent professional who will be responsible for the day-to-day organizational, technical and production aspects for projects of varying types, complexities, scopes and budgets. The Project Manager will be required to “shepherd” project development process from conceptual design through substantial completion and final close out. Previous public-sector experience is preferred. Candidates should be dedicated self-starters, able to work on teams with Senior level staff, other Project Managers/Senior Architects, project level architects and engineers, and technical designers. He or she should also be able to function alone when necessary and should also have a dedication to the profession with a willingness to guide and mentor newer professionals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pro-actively contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction closeout
  • Manage the production of construction documents and technical specifications for public bidding.
  • Follow production schedules and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle more than one project at a time
  • Collaborate positively with in-house design teams of other project architects and engineers, designers, technicians and outside consultants, as well as Construction Managers and client representatives.
  • Meet quality control requirements, cost budgets, and time deadlines as necessary to ensure highest level of client satisfaction.
  • Represent the firm at Client meetings.
  • Contribute to growing our practice through new business development initiatives including but not limited to assistance with new client outreach, follow-up, and marketing.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Skills and experience will vary according to the level of the position however the following are minimal requirements of all positions:

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (4-year degree), Bachelor of Architecture (5-year degree) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of architectural experience in an office environment, with a history of increased responsibility
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Adobe.
  • Strong design and graphic skills, with ability to work in Sketch-Up or other modeling/presentation software packages.
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
  • Preference given to candidates with a proven track record in the local A/E/C industry within the Capital District, Hudson Valley, Mohawk Valley and Central New York regions. Previous experience in K-12 and/or municipal work a plus.
  • Self-driven desire to learn and grow professionally, independence, ability to multi-task and to meet multiple simultaneous deadlines, client interaction and presentations.
