Job Description:
We are seeking a Life Safety Systems Designer who is passionate about delivering innovative solutions on projects that serve as the foundation of our clients' businesses. As a part of a dynamic, collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects such as semiconductor manufacturing plants, data centers, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing and research facilities. In this vital role, you will perform computer-aided drafting and design of Life Safety and Security Systems for advanced facilities, helping ensure operational excellence and safety.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers and design leads to deliver complex Life Safety Systems packages.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create and maintain 3D BIM models coordinated with architects and engineers.
- Design and document Security Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection systems within 3D models.
- Perform calculations, apply NFPA and ICC codes and standards, and specify equipment as directed by engineering staff.
- Participate in project delivery by coordinating with global teammates through integrated digital tools and processes.
- Apply your expertise in life safety codes and security systems to ensure the integrity and compliance of system designs.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to support project execution and contribute to a positive, innovative team culture.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD (Revit experience preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in systems design for Security Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection systems.
- NICET Security certification.
- ASIS International Advanced Security Worldwide certification.
- Manufacturer's equipment certifications.
Preferred:
- 3-5 years of relevant systems design experience.
- Proficiency with IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
- Familiarity with security systems and manufacturer’s equipment.
- Prior industrial design experience.
Locations: Portland, OR; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; and Pittsburgh, PA.
Compensation: $43-60/hr (W2)
