Metal Stamping Press Setup Technician
Job Description
Job DescriptionBuild Precision With Us
Since 1943, our Michigan-based team has crafted precision metal mesh filters for industrial and commercial customers. As a Metal Stamping Press Setup Technician, you’ll be the hands-on expert who gets presses ready, keeps them running safely, and verifies parts meet spec—every run, every time.
A day in this role
You arrive to a clean, organized production floor and review the shop packet and blueprints for your next job. You stage dies, arbors, and setup tools, then set up manual and semi-automatic equipment—kick presses, punch presses, dial presses, convoluters, and chandlers. Before the first stroke, you confirm all safety devices are in place and functioning. You perform a first-piece inspection and buyoff, measuring with micrometers, calipers, and go/no-go gauges against the print. Throughout the day, you react quickly to any quality or equipment issues, trim setup time through continuous improvement, and keep accurate counts of good parts and scrap. When setups are complete, you jump in to assist production and secondary operations. You end your shift with a clean, safe, and well-organized workstation.
