Job Summary:
Responsible for tracking engineering changes and updating necessary documents using Management of Change (MOC) process. Assists in setting up, qualifying, and maintaining equipment and machinery. Responsible for trouble-shooting issues and must keep current on latest technology. Acts as primary resource for all existing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipment and initiatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technicians and engineers to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance machine automation systems.
- Support the design, implementation, commissioning, and validation of control applications.
- Lead minor and medium capital improvement automation projects.
- Design, commission, maintain, and improve control systems, primarily using Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs and associated Electrical and Instrumentation systems.
- Keep track of engineering changes and update necessary documents utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Develop HMI graphics for efficient technician response and process operation understanding.
- Coach and mentor team members on PLC tasks and activities.
- Participate in investigations of process control incidents, ensuring that follow-up actions prevent recurrence.
- Work with other team members to support, improve, and maintain communications between systems.
- Continuously improve individual capabilities, remaining up to date with the latest technology.
- Occasional off-hour support will be required.
- Occasional travel may be required (less than 10% of time)
Qualifications:
- BS Engineering discipline required.
- 0-5 years of manufacturing or related experience required.
- Strong experience in implementing and supporting Process Control systems, preferably Rockwell Allen Bradley.
- Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control system hardware and software, instruments, networks, and processes.
- Must be a self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and communications skills.

- Solid understanding of a software development and computer programming.
- Highly organized and creative.
- Possess effective engineering leadership skills.
- Strong research skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills and proficiency in hardware and software development and troubleshooting.
- Effective in designing process improvement projects; keeping up to dat with latest developments in industrial automation technology and using these studies in improving productivity and promoting cost effectiveness.
