The Opportunity
Own the setup and operation of CNC and/or manual mills and lathes to produce precision components. You’ll interpret drawings, verify dimensions with precision metrology tools, and keep machines running at peak performance while collaborating with engineers and programmers to refine processes.
A Day in the Life
You arrive to a clean, organized workstation. The day starts by reviewing prints and specs, planning setups, and selecting tooling. After dialing in offsets, you run first articles, measure with calipers and micrometers, and make fine adjustments to hit tight tolerances. Throughout your shift, you monitor machine performance, document production details, and partner with the team to drive efficiency and quality.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC and/or manual mills and lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to define machining requirements.
- Inspect and verify parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Monitor machine performance; adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineers and programmers to improve machining processes and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized area and follow all safety protocols.
- Complete production documentation and keep accurate job records.
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience in machining (CNC and/or manual).
- Ability to set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or manual machines.
- Familiarity with G-code programming is a plus (not required).
- Proficiency with measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Comfort working independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment.
