Job Description

Job Description Lead the Line at Plant Portland

You start your shift at Plant Portland ready to set the pace. You gather a union crew for a quick huddle, map out the day’s priorities, and guide the team through Autonomous Maintenance Step 4 activities. As issues surface, you apply Progressive Maintenance Step 3 standards, stabilize basic conditions, and keep the line running safely and efficiently. Throughout the day you coach, de-escalate tough interpersonal moments with tact, and use Integrated Lean Six Sigma and Total Productive Maintenance to raise performance.

What you will do

  • Own daily execution of AM Step 4 and PM Step 3 systems on dedicated equipment.
  • Maintain equipment at basic conditions independently, executing both break-down and planned maintenance standards.
  • Advance TPM and Six Sigma practices, including qualification of AM Steps 5–6 and PM Step 3.
  • Lead and develop a line team in a union environment, modeling clear communication and attention to detail.
  • Navigate challenging interpersonal situations with diplomacy while influencing outcomes across a represented workforce.

What you bring

  • Union experience is required; expertise in IL6 and lean manufacturing is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Clear verbal and written communication with strong attention to detail.

Experience and education

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience (required).
  • Hands-on exposure to production processes (required).
  • People leadership experience (required), including experience working with union employees (required).
  • High school diploma (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanics, electrical, manufacturing, or a similar engineering field (preferred).

Schedule

  • Shift flexibility is required: Monday–Friday rotation across mornings (6:00am–2:00pm), afternoons (2:00pm–10:00pm), and nights (10:00pm–6:00am).
  • Saturday pay: $55.53/hr; Sunday pay: $74.04/hr.

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $77,000–$87,000. Final offer depends on experience, skills, education, and budget.
  • Eligible for a highly competitive bonus program with potential for overachievement based on performance and company results.

Benefits

  • Wellness and family support programs
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Retirement savings plans
  • Paid leave programs
  • Education-related programs
