As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to ensure that every product leaving our facility meets the highest standards of safety, consistency, and excellence.
Position Overview:
The Quality Manager will oversee all aspects of quality assurance and food safety within our dehydration operations. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with SQF, HACCP, and other regulatory standards, as well as supporting continuous improvement in production processes. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and strong leadership skills to help train and guide our team in best practices for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the facility’s Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs.
- Serve as the SQF Practitioner for the site, maintaining and improving the SQF System.
- Develop, implement, and train staff on HACCP plans and food safety procedures.
- Conduct quality checks, inspections, and internal audits to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Manage and review all quality documentation and paperwork, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Oversee test batches and product evaluations to verify consistency, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Write, revise, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training programs for production and quality staff.
- Collaborate with production management to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, and other regulatory requirements related to food manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing environment; dehydration experience preferred.
- Certified SQF Practitioner and HACCP trained (required).
- Strong understanding of GMPs, Food Safety Plans, and Quality Systems.
- Experience with test batching, product evaluation, and documentation control.
- Proven ability to write procedures, conduct trainings, and manage a production team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
